Seattle Spin: What's Happening in Seattle this Week

Theatre: Good Boys, ACT Theatre, September 30th - October 17th, starting at $35.  A drama of the intersection of two fathers whose son's effected each other's lives in a very profound way.  Good Boys is a life-affirming, thought provoking, production.

Family Activity: Corn Mazes and Pumpkins, fee and locations vary.  Does anything say autumn more than barley soup and corn?  Well, here's half the equation.  Check out The Farm in Snohomish, the South 47 Farm in Redmond,  or Biringer Farm in Everett.  Be sure to wear boots and jeans you can get muddy.

Dance: Big Bamboo Ball by Northwest Folklife, Saturday, Oct 2nd, noon to midnight, starting at $10.  There's a dance for everyone at this event: waltz, cajun, salsa, swing, and tango.  Dance lessons, four live bands, and family friendly; no matter how you cut a rug, there's something for you down here.

Performance:  Basic Instinct script reading at the Re-Bar, September 27th - 29th, $5 cover.  It was actually a pretty good movie, but after that leg crossing scene, it's hard to remember what happened next!  Go down for the dialogue this time.

Class: First Impressions, a wardrobe and image class for women, October 6th, $35.  You get six seconds to make that first impression before it's seared into someone's mind, so discover how to make those precious seconds count.  Learn how clothes and body language make the message.

Shows: The Atomic Bombshells Burlesque performs at The Mirabeau Room, September 29th, $6.  More cheesecake than skin, a safe way to spend a mildly naughty evening.

Expo: Baby Boomers and Beyond, October 2nd at Kirkland Community Senior Center, free.  For folks north of 50, learn how to live your golden years in health and wealth.

Teatro Zinzanni

Teatro Zinzanni starts its new show October 1st with a five-course meal designed by Seattle über-chef Tom Douglas.  Describing the show, people use terms like "Kit Kat Club", "Circus du Soleil", and "Moulin Rouge."  Go see for yourself and come up with your own description.  Like a birthday bash, this is one of those events worth splurging for.
