Dining: Flying Fish in Belltown. Consistently one of the best dining values in Seattle, and now, it's going to be better. Print out this issue of Seattle Spin and present as a coupon to receive $10 off lunch on Monday through Fridays 11:30 - 2:00 PM. Valid until Oct 31st, 2004. One certificate per table; total check must exceed $25. Museum: The Museum of History and Industry. If your last visit was on a field trip as a grade school kid, then it's time to go again. Marvel at history of human ingenuity at this museum and maybe spark your own imagination for a couple of million dollar ideas. Activities: Senior Activities. Seattle Parks and Rec has a full Fall calendar of both indoor and outdoor activities for people in their golden years. There's certainly no excuse for being bored with this line up. Gala: First Art Auction by Seattle Men's Chorus, September 24th, $50 and up. If one had to pick something else these guys know how to do besides sing, it'd be throwing a great bash. Up to 125 artist will be represented. Sports: Rat City Rollargirls, September 25th, 2 PM, $7. Cheer on rowdy fems skating around a track bruising their way ahead. Stay for the block party afterwards and celebrate with classic formula of beer, bands, and BBQ. Family Activity: Bug Blast, September 19th at the Burke Museum on the UW Campus. There are 29 Orders of insects, but sometimes, they still seam like just a bunch of bugs. Learn what's going on in the insect world. They'll even be serving some around lunch! Organization: Seattle Paranormal Club. This is the X-Files come alive locally. Whatever you believe is out there, ghosts, UFOs, parapsychology, or Bigfoot, you'll find a kindred spirit (literally) at this club. Singles Activity: NW Harvest Moon Ball at the Bellevue Hyatt, September 24th, $27. A presentation on Hypnotic Suggestion followed up with dance lessons.

Stair Climbing: Some of the best exercise is free (after all, how much does it cost to do a push-up?) Work out on stairs, and you'll build up endurance that can take you miles. Here are three great stair runs:
Howe Street Steps: The longest collection of steps in the city. A 400 foot gain on 300 steps - this set will definitely clean your clock. West side of Capital Hill, from Lakeview Blvd to 10th Ave East. North End: 300 feet on 200 steps from bottom to top. It's on NE 135th between 42nd Ave NE and 40th Ave NE. Don't be surprised if you run into a fireman from the Lake City Station training here. Pike Place Market Hillclimb. Up from the waterfront to the start of Pike Place Market with one hundred steps. Wide steps with plenty of resting places along the way.
